About The Role:

You will be setting up highly complex, computer-controlled industrial systems. In this role, you will connect individual components to build an automated complete system. The programming and testing of systems and their commissioning and servicing also belong to your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Collection of technical requirements for the design of PMS (Power Management Systems) algorithms for On-grid and Off-grid microgrids: meetings to define requirements with key contacts in the branches/subsidiaries, bibliographic and standards analysis.
  • Writing of functional specification documents for PMS functionalities expected for on-grid and off-grid microgrids with a high rate of renewable energy and energy storage.
  • Design in MATLAB/Simulink the PMS algorithms and deploy them on real-time targets such as Industrial PCs or PLCs.
  • Software integration (industrial communication protocols, cybersecurity, HMI, databases) and hardware integration of third-party PMS and SCADA controllers to our real-time simulation platforms OPAL-RT and PHIL laboratory.
  • Conduct test campaigns in the PHIL laboratory according to the needs of our internal customers: preparation of test plans, execution of test plans and test reports.

Candidate Rquirements:

  • Expertise in automation applied to electrical networks.
  • Intermediate expertise in an industrial context on microgrids/smartgrids including conventional energy sources (gas turbines, diesel generators…etc), renewable energy sources (PV, wind…etc) and battery storage.
  • Normal expertise in Power Systems: modeling, simulation, stability studies, control, protection schemes, storage integration, power electronics control.
  • Expertise avancée dans la conception de systèmes de gestion de puissance et automatisation pour les microgrids.
  • Expertise in computer science and software: Python, C/C++, Labview, PLCs.
  • Approach to working in an electrical engineering laboratory environment.
