About The Role:
The Business Development Advisor will own and manage the upstream transportation service agreements in supporting Cenovus’s oil sands and conventional growth. Develop a deep understanding of the agreements to identify commercial opportunities. Have the initiative to develop business cases by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a midstream asset development plan that supports the growth of Upstream, taking into consideration regional industry pipeline development and growth. Provide midstream input to asset planning, budgeting, and reporting processes
- Support and lead negotiations and development of contracts/agreements (new and renewals)
- Build and lead comprehensive business cases and present well-articulated, concise recommendations to senior management
- Lead framing, evaluating and progressing of opportunities through collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
- Independently complete project evaluations
- Identify “commercial” optimization strategies and lead their successful implementation
- Develop and maintain meaningful working relationships with industry counterparts
- Provide value assurance of deal proposals
- Attend several industry forums to understand issues and also influence internally and externally
- Develop analytics and presentations to support business case decisions
- Build and run complex economic cashflow models to support scenario analyses
- Draft opportunity memos to frame business development initiatives
- Lead approved business cases to execution
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce or Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years working experience in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in a commercial role is preferred
- Exceptional Communication and Presentation Skills (external, internal, impromptu, and management)
- Understanding of Alberta oil and gas infrastructure/marketing is an asset
- Strong Analytical and presentation skills
- Financial, Economical and Decisional Analysis
- Experience in economic analysis, discounted cashflow modeling, and business writing
- Advanced working knowledge of MS-OFFICE suite
