About The Role:

You may be required to attend two weeks of training at the Railroad Education & Development Institute in Atlanta, GA. CSX will pay for travel, lodging and meals as required by collective bargaining agreement.


  • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
  • Install and maintain signal control systems and computer equipment.
  • Direct others to locate, analyze and promptly restore signal facility problems at field locations.
  • Work from a computer terminal.

Candidate Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Approved electronic technician certification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with electronics, electronic signal equipment, basic signal systems, signal circuit plans and schematic electronic diagrams.
  • Understand diagnostic and other test equipment.
  • Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications–both general and technical).
  • Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions).
  • Reasoning skills (problem solving and trouble shooting skills).
