About The Role:

Reporting to the Manager of USPL Project Evaluations, the Financial Analyst will provide analytical support to help drive a growth capital portfolio with opportunities ranging from increasing business on existing assets to helping attract RNG opportunities. If you enjoy solving complex problems using your Excel modelling abilities, we would be happy to meet you.   • Work in Excel. Create and refine models for projects while constantly improving/updating our templates.
  • Modelling opportunities will include large growth projects, green energy initiatives, M&A, and optimization of existing assets.
  • Regular communication with Business Development (BD) to accurately model new opportunities.
  • As part of broad team of experts, assist in preparation of corporate project approval documents including PowerPoint presentation and executive summaries.
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to all levels of the organization, from analysts to executives.
  • Build a strong internal network with stakeholders from across the organization including accounting, legal, and commercial.
  • Continually learn and develop business acumen and financial ability.
  • Take everything from above and learn how to analyze projects within an existing regulatory framework.
  • Integrate project analysis into ongoing financial planning and budgeting process.
  • Work as a member of highly functioning team to meet the demands of a fast paced environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
  • Undergraduate degree of any kind but it would not hurt to have business, mathematics, or engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excel skills, including use of complex formulas.
  • Ability to perform financial and economic modeling.
  • Understanding key components of financial statements.
  • Initiative to identify improvements to existing processes and drive change.
