About The Role:
The Commercial Scheduler is responsible for providing direct logistics, scheduling, and inventory management of A&IP products within North America via rail, truck, vessel or transload, directly linked to equity or third-party production of refined products.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with site operations to manage volumes and inbound and outbound rail, truck, vessel and transload shipments to ensure demand fulfillment
- This position will be responsible for more than one asset (facility, terminal, upgrader, refinery etc)
- Manage relationships with Canadian and US carriers
- Manage daily requests for freight rates and costs to deliver to new jobs
- Maintain fuel surcharge databases
- Enter necessary freight and associated delivery costs into ETRM systems
- Seeks alternative sources of delivery during planned and unplanned outages to meet sales commitments and forecasts
- Provide freight rates to marketing and trading to assist with new business development
- Provide customer service to counter parties, customers, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate daily scheduling between manufacturing, terminals, customers, and sales
- Scheduling of commodities including but not limited to, asphalt, emulsions, pet coke, Sulphur, diesel, ethanol, and intermediates
- Manage and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports, KPIs and dashboards
- Verify and approve non-auto freight invoices
- Proactively seek out ways to minimize logistics costs, improve service delivery and manage incremental volumes
- Provide backup and support to other logistics roles in the team including vacation coverage and projects.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Economics
- A minimum of 3-7 years of logistics experience specifically as a scheduler with rail, truck and/or vessel experience (pipeline candidates could be considered)
- A minimum of 3-7 years within Oil and Gas, preferably in downstream or refined products
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment meeting time sensitive deadline
- Experience working in a geographically dispersed environment is an asset
